Holland Pop Festival, Rotterdam (NL), 28 June 1970

In English.
This exponent of the Canterbury Sound would in the following years become one of the most tasteful and stylish progressive rock bands, mainly due to the great compositional talent that a number of members brings along. The mannerism and pretentions that mark a lot of prog-rock remained well within the acceptable range with Caravan in later years. After a still strongly psychedelic tinted (and now very rare), but poorly recorded debut "Caravan", the kaleidoscopic "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You" was released in 1970, which logically played a large role in the performance. This idiosyncratic work (as well as the 1971 sequel "In The Land Of Grey And Pink" is still rock solid. Because of the variety, richness of ideas and instrumental skills, the album has been forged into a meaningful whole, with the exception perhaps of the title track that repeats itself for too long, which of course also made sure that the band became better known. The performance at "Kralingen" of this band, which I had never heard of before, made a big impression on me because of the mixture of energy and tranquility in the repertoire and the large number of memorable melodies.

In Dutch.
Na een nog sterk psychedelisch getint (en nu razend zeldzaam), maar slecht opgenomen debuut "Caravan", verscheen in 1970 het kaleidoscopische "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You", dat logischerwijze een groot deel van het optreden bepaalde.
